The injury came at the Club World Cup and cost him most of the season, and the return never quite reached the level it was aiming for. He had a routine operation after the World Cup to remove the metal plate in his foot, so this season starts from a cleaner base than the last one did. What matters is an uninterrupted run, not a goal count.

Sport1 report Bayern have set out a plan with Kompany and the fitness staff to keep Musiala out of the Asia tour, avoiding the travel and the promotional commitments. He works individually in Munich and is to rejoin team training once the squad returns.
